During Term 1 we will be looking at the school rules and values through Positive Behaviour For Learning (PB4L).
The 2013 inquiry focus is 'change'
Year 7 Guided Inquiry PB4L/Census What is change? Is change inevitable? Can I resist change? What does change? What doesn’t change? What changes have I experienced in the past? What changes do I expect to experience at Intermediate? What forces change? (growing up, technology, media, family circumstances) What does it mean to react/respond to something? How does change affect me and how have I reacted/responded to change in the past? Do I have a choice in how I respond to change? (PB4L) What future changes am I facing? How do I prepare for change?
CENSUS How do we measure change? How has Pukekohe/NZ changed? (introduce the concept of the census and why they are necessary: they are a means to help prepare for change)
What is a census? How often? What is the purpose of a census? How is a census conducted? How does a census show change? How does a government interpret and use the data? How does a government plan for and initiate change (Future planning)
Check out this song...it has a great PB4L focus which links well with our lessons on RESPECT.
